THRIVING IN TROUBLING TIMES (2)
“The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it.”RICHARD BACH
How we go through and thrive in life is mainly a product of our perspective. Across the world, frantically speaking, things are slowing down. But guess what? We all can make this the loveliest moment of our lives. How can we do this, you’ll ask?
These three (3) principles may help:
1. Revisit Old Goals. There are quite some dreams we’ve swept under the carpet because of the busyness of meeting the demands of life. But here we are, with lots of “free time”. I think it is time to bring out the journals and look at what we’ve always wanted to be and do. You may even be able to start something now. We never can tell how far it’ll go in making a difference in the world.
2. Regiment Your Life. Sure this is a time to catch some rest, but you should not snooze all day. Be disciplined. If possible, use a schedule to help you live as if you are actually working. Set tasks and targets, and push to achieve them. A regimented life prevents a fragmented destiny.
3. Revel in the Moment. Yes, be deliberate in making this the best moment of your life. Filter every information from your enlightened self, and accept only what contributes to your happiness. If you have a family, choose to enjoy having them around, rather than complain about how nasty your kids can be. It may take a long while if at all, to have such an opportunity for you all to be locked down in one place for such a long time. Also, if you’re living alone, enjoy the privilege of having so much space and time to yourself. Sometime in the future, you will long for days such as this but may never find. Together, we all should reach out to our friends and extended family, do video calls, laugh together, pray together, and dream together.
Let’s make this the best moment of our lives.
Yes, we can.
I believe in you!
